Zamil Steel Vietnam was established in 1997, as a joint venture between Zamil Steel and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. From only one representative office in HCMC in 1993, ZSV has expanded its regional network to 18 area offices located in Vietnam and 10 other South East Asia countries. The 1st state-of-the-art factory was built in Noi Bai Industrial Zone, Soc Son, Hanoi in 1997.
 “The demand for our products in Vietnam and the region has risen progressively over the years and is still increasing. After two expansions, our factory in Hanoi has reached its full capacity for the last few years. We think that the time now is right for us to operate the new factory in Dong Nai to meet the demand and better serve our customers in Vietnam and the region.” said Mr. George E. Kobrossy, General Director of ZSV.
The US$14 million Dong Nai factory will increase the total investment capital of Zamil Steel in Vietnam to reach over US$35 million. The new facility, covering more than 24,000 m2, is situated on a land area of 45,000 m2 and will be producing 4,500 metric tons of steel per month once it reaches the full operation capacity.
The official ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Abdulrahman Al Zamil, Chairman - Zamil Industrial and the governor of Dong Nai province
In addition to the pre-engineered building manufacturing lines, the Dong Nai factory will also have the capabilities to fabricate two new product lines, Structural Steel and Open Web Joists. Structural steel will be able to cater to structures used in petrochemical plants, oil and gas plants, industrial buildings, equipment support structures and high rise buildings. Open web joists is a revolutionary product originating from North America, with applications of steel joists, steel decks and composite floor systems ideally suited for the construction of low, medium and high rise buildings and commercial centers. These two new lines will provide a wider range of steel building solutions and product options to satisfy ZSV’s customers, both in the domestic and export markets.
