HANOI, (1st November 2008) - Zamil Steel Vietnam (ZSV) was officially inducted as a founding member of the Vietnam Green Building Council.
Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) is a project of Green Cities Fund, California, USA, endorsed by the World Green Building Council, Toronto, CA. VGBC’s mission is forcusing on facilitacing green building and emissions reductions in Viet Nam; educating key sectors on the necessity of sustainable and adaptive building; and adapting communities and the built environment to the unavoidable consequences of global climate change.
Zamil Steel and VGBC share a common view that green building design is essential to the sustainable development of
Vietnam and the world. Zamil Steel and VGBC also share concern that global climate change will soon affect Vietnam in a profound fashion. Thus Zamil Steel and VGBC have a common goal of enabling research, training, and implementation of sustainable/resilient (S/R) buildings and infrastructure for Vietnam. The agreement of framework for collaboration is to further this goal, and Zamil Steel Vienam has been an official founding member of VGBC from 1st November 2008.

It has been proven that reducing the embodied energy, with respect to CO2 emissions, steel can add valuable benefits in terms of sustainability and should be the first choice for designers looking to achieve the highest LEED score possible for their projects.
