Singapore, 13-14 January, 2009 - Zamil Steel Vietnam (ZSV) was invited to deliver a keynote address at the 4th Asia Steel Conference in Singapore, and also to participate on several technical panels related to current issues affecting the Global Steel Industry.

Organized by The Asia Business Forum the conference gathered a truly international team of steel experts to tackle the major business issues in this region and provide solid answers and effective solutions. This event also provided insight into the steel opportunities in ASEAN and the role SE Asia can play in the global steel market.

In keeping with the theme of the conference, Mr. Dean Borg, General Manager of Sales & Marketing for Zamil Steel Joist Division, delivered a keynote address entitled “The Wonders of Steel”. The focus of Mr. Borg’s presentation was the versatility, durability and recyclability of steel as used in building design. Conference attendees were treated to a dynamic display of featured projects that highlighted the strength, economy and beauty of steel.
Mr. Borg also participated as a panelist on several round table discussions on the topics of “Forecast and Analysis of the Global Steel Market”, and also “Vietnam’s Role in the Steel Market”
With the recent addition of the Open Web Steel Joist production line at the new Dong Nai Factory, Zamil Steel Vietnam has brought North American technology to SE Asia in the form of lightweight and economical joist solutions to floor and roof systems.
