Preceding to this new steel processing plant contract in Phu My Industrial Park 1 at Ba Ria, Vung Tau Province was the contract of Lotus Steel’s first coated steel and purlin mill factory located in Song Than 2 Industrial Park that was designed with high capacity cranes up to 50 tonnes.

The contract was awarded to Zamil Steel Vietnam by Hoa Sen Group, the mother company of Lotus-Phu My Steel. With an invested capital of USD 129 million, this new steel rolling and refining mill plant is by far the largest investment of Hoa Sen Group, with steel refining capacity of 500,000 tonnes per year and steel rolling line of 400,000 tonnes per year.
In the contract, Zamil Steel is responsible to supply five (5) Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings located on an area of 170,000 sqm. that are slated for completion by end of 2009. These buildings are complex structures with ridges reaching up to a height of 50 meters and house many heavy duty cranes. The total weight of this project has exceeded 5,000 tonnes which sets the new record for the largest, biggest and highest steel project of ZSV. The fabrication of this special project is being handled by ZSV’s state-of-the-art Dong Nai factory which had also fabricated the complex steel buildings for Intel Co. delivered earlier this year.
“We are very delighted to receive this repeat order from Lotus Steel as they were satisfied with our performance in their first project,’’ said Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuong, the Regional Manager of ZSV in HCMC. “The high number of repeated customers is an authentication to ZSV for our top quality products and services. It also reinstates ZSV’s position as a fully integrated steel buildings provider with capabilities to undertake complicated projects which are both technically and aesthetically challenging.”
