“We are prepared!”

HCMC, 18-20 February, 2009 - Some 90 attendees consisted of Asia Pacific sales teams, head of departments of Hanoi and Dong Nai factories attended Zamil Steel Vietnam 2009 Sales Conference at New World Hotel Saigon on Wednesday to Friday 18 - 20 February 2009.

“Zamil Steel Vietnam is ready to build upon the successes of previous years and well prepared to weather the current economic crisis with strong financial support, extensive sales network and qualified workforce,” said George Kobrossy, General Director of Zamil Steel Vietnam in his opening speech for the Conference themed ‘Selling through the Economic Storm’.

George also congratulated his audience for the tremendous success in 2008 despite the dramatic and unpredictable price escalations for the first 3 quarters and the impact of global economic downturn in the last quarter.

The conference also welcomed two honourable guests from Saudi Arabia Head Quarter, i.e. Mr. Khalid Abdullah Al-Zamil, Managing Director of Zamil Industrial and Mr. Nawaf Al-Zamil, Vice President, of Zamil Steel Industries. Nawaf Al-Zamil in his keynote address assured Zamil Steel Industries continuous support to ZSV. He outlined the innovative business initiatives of setting up Global Engineering office in Egypt and Jordan as well as the plan of centralising marketing activities, aimed at enhancing the operational efficiencies by collaborating and intergrading the effort of marketing as well as product research and development.

In the closing speech, Khalid Al-Zamil emphasised the importance of customer service and customer retention during the difficult times. “We always pledge unwavering commitment to customer service, regardless of whether that customer is buying 10 tonnes or 10 million dollars worth of steel buildings,” highlighted by Khalid Al Zamil.
Other speakers at the conference represented Sales Offices of Zamil Steel in Australia, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. They briefed the audience on achievements in 2008 and plans for 2009 of their respective territories.  ZSV marketing department also launched ZSV Corporate Identity Guidelines and the new website in the conference.

“We are very happy that this Sales Conference has been a great success. It has given us all a better understanding of the demands and needs of our customers and will help us to ensure we have the right strategy to maintain success in the market,” shared Nguyen Minh Phuong, Regional Manager of ZSV.
