Zamil Steel Vietnam welcomed visiting delegation from Baylor University.
20th April 2009, Zamil Steel Vietnam (ZSV) Dong Nai Factory in Amata Industrial Park played host for a factory visit to a student delegation from Baylor University’s EMBA program led by Program Director, Mr. Phil Sanchez. Other visitors included Associate Director, Ms Mary Abrahams; Senior Lecturer, Mr. Roger Davis as well as 23 students of various nationalities.

Baylor University is a well-established, private university located in Texas, USA with a student population of over 13,000. Best known for its program in business, EMBA is a prestigious program of Baylor University exclusively catered for mid-career professionals to develop deeper understanding on the requirements of business leaders.
 
 
At the start of the visit, Mr. Donald Ghanem, Operation Manager of Dong Nai Factory delivered a brief welcome note, providing an overview of the company before turning the presentation over to Mr. Angus Liew, Marketing Supervisor of ZSV for a half an hour presentation on Zamil Steel’s profile, followed by the “Route and Formula to Success of Zamil Steel Vietnam”. A brief question and answer session was followed with interesting questions enthusiastically asked by the visitors.
 
After the discussion, the students were taken for a guided tour into the factory’s latest manufacturing facility. This phase of visit provided a practical view of Zamil Steel Vietnam’s capacity to produce superior quality steel products with the support of advance technologies.  
 
“This visit gave us an insight to the issues and challenges for conducting business in Vietnam and more specifically about on-going and recently developed strategic management issues,” according to Mr. Sanchez.
 
The fruitful visit was wrapped up with an interaction session between Zamil Steel employees and the delegation. Many left with smiles and grins on their faces bringing Zamil Steel’s souvenirs along with them.
