Description

Zamil Steel Buildings Vietnam Co., Ltd. manufactures the following products under a Technology Sub-License Agreement with Canam Group Inc. of Canada:Canam Group Logo.jpg

 Open Web Steel Joist Description
The Open Web Steel Joist (OWSJ) is a lightweight steel truss consisting, in the standard form, of parallel chords and a triangulated web system, proportioned to span between bearing points, usually as a secondary structural component.
The main function of an OWSJ is to provide direct support for roof or floor deck and to transfer the load imposed on the deck to the structural frame i.e. beam (structure) and column.

In order to accurately design an OWSJ, Zamil Steel engineers consider the joist span between bearing points, joist spacing, slope, live loads, dead loads, collateral loads, wind uplift, deflection criteria and maximum joist depth allowed.

While OWSJs can be adapted to suit a wide variety of architectural applications, the greatest economy will be realized when utilizing Zamil Steel standard details.

Some other shapes, in addition to the parallel top and bottom chord, are single slope, double slope, curved, gable and scissor configurations. These shapes are usually supplied at a premium cost that reflects the complexity required.

Open Web Steel Joist Girder Description
The Open Web Steel Joist Girder is a primary structural component of a building. Generally, it supports floor and roof joists in simple span conditions, or other secondary elements (purlins, etc.) evenly spaced along the length of the Joist Girder. The loads applied to a “spandrel” Joist Girder come from one side, while on an inside bay the loads are supplied on either side of the Joist Girder.

The Open Web Joist Girder is composed of a top chord and a bottom chord which are usually parallel to each other. These chords are held in place using vertical and diagonal web members. In construction, a Joist Girder rests on a column and the bottom chord is held in place by a stabilizing plate.

Zamil Open Web Steel Joist Girders can be manufactured to custom shapes, including curved, gable and scissor configurations.

 HAMBRO® Composite Steel Joist Description
The HAMBRO® Composite Steel Joist is an open web, parallel chord joist suitable for direct support of one-way floor systems.  Members consist of a patented cold-formed steel top chord, which acts as a shear connection between the joist top chord and overlying concrete slab. This allows the steel joist and slab to act together as an integral unit after the concrete has adequately cured.

ZSV can manufacture the following HAMBRO® products to suit elevated floor construction challenges:

D500 MD2000*
Metal Deck System
